AMANI WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT & SUPPORT ORGANISATION (AWESO)

Amani Women’s Empowerment & Support Organisation (AWESO) is a specialist organisation, committed to empowering, supporting, and advocating for Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) women survivors of, or at risk of domestic abuse.

Based in the UK and led by and for Black, Asian, and minoritised women, AWESO is dedicated to providing holistic, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed domestic abuse services to women from BAME communities. Our mission is to offer holistic tailored support that empowers, uplifts, and advocates for BAME women, addressing their unique needs within Psychologically Informed Environments.

At AWESO

We provide safe, non-judgmental spaces where women can reclaim their voice, restore their safety, freedom, and wellbeing, and begin to rebuild their lives.

Through comprehensive support, we empower and support women to access vital resources, restore their self-worth and dignity, regain control of their futures, overcome the lasting effects of domestic abuse, rebuild their lives with confidence, autonomy, and hope for the future.

Driven by the belief that every woman, regardless of her background, deserves to live a life free from abuse and fear, AWESO is committed to addressing the specific needs of BAME women. We aim to create a safer, more inclusive society where all women have the opportunity to thrive. By challenging the stigma surrounding domestic abuse, raising awareness within BAME communities, and empowering survivors to break free from cycles of abuse, we work to foster long-lasting change.

Making the difference

Through advocacy, compassion, and unwavering dedication, AWESO is making a tangible difference in the lives of women affected by domestic abuse. Together, we are breaking the cycle of violence and working towards a future where women can live with dignity, respect, and safety.
