Community Support & Outreach

Amani Women’s Empowerment and Support Organisation (AWESO) provides a comprehensive range of community outreach services designed to empower and support Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) women who are survivors of domestic abuse. Our tailored support is delivered in a manner that meets the unique needs and preferences of each individual, whether in person, online, or by phone, ensuring survivors feel comfortable and supported throughout their journey.

Our dedicated Community Team is committed to providing confidential, free, and culturally sensitive support, offering support through one-on-one sessions, group sessions, and telephone outreach. We deliver both short-term and long-term support based on the specific needs of each survivor, adapting our approach to their circumstances and pace.

Our outreach initiatives focus on promoting personal safety and providing practical guidance to those who may not yet be ready to leave an abusive relationship or are uncertain about their next steps. Through this, we aim to empower survivors with the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions about their futures.

In addition, AWESO works to reduce social isolation by connecting survivors to a wider network of community resources, including local support services and faith-based organisations. By fostering these connections, we ensure that BAME women are supported by safe and trusted networks, further enhancing their access to the help and resources they need.

Making the difference

Through advocacy, compassion, and unwavering dedication, AWESO is making a tangible difference in the lives of women affected by domestic abuse. Together, we are breaking the cycle of violence and working towards a future where women can live with dignity, respect, and safety.
