United Kingdom
Our organisation is committed to raising awareness about domestic abuse within BAME communities, challenging harmful cultural norms, and educating the public on available support services. We also focus on encouraging and developing personal safety strategies while offering tailored support to survivors who may not yet be ready to leave an abusive relationship or who wish to remain in the relationship for various reasons.
AWESO works within the community, partnering with BAME leaders, activists, and organisations to provide essential support and empowerment to survivors. Our dedicated caseworkers assist individuals in managing their lives and responsibilities, while also helping them identify strategies to reduce vulnerability and harm. We empower survivors to assess their personal circumstances, understand the support options available to them, and navigate the pathways to securing the help they need.
